got a thick one, got a pretty technical one. I'm going to be talking about getting health insurance through the

Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as ACA, otherwise known as Obamacare.

Obamacare was signed into law in March of 2010, and it was meant to be sweeping improvements

in accessibility and affordability

for health insurance.

Now, the just was most people who didn't have access to health insurance through their employer

or aren't of Medicare age either had trouble getting insurance or got dropped or, you know, were turned away for preexisting

conditions or had to pay a lot, et cetera. So this sweeping legislation known as the Affordable Care Act,

again, aka Obamacare, was intended to help make access and affordability to insurance easier

for people who didn't already have it through other means, again, like through employers or like through Medicare.

There has since been some tweaks to the system.
