July 24th is Pioneer Day. It's maybe one of the lesser known holidays.

Unless you live in Utah where we lived for a few years.

And in Utah it's a state holiday recognized in every town and city in the state with parades

and fireworks and all kinds of stuff.

And this summer our daughter is participating in a pioneer trek.
