Today, we have a phrasal verb.

Oh, this is a good one.

It is to pan out. Uh-huh. So a phrasal verb is an action verb plus a preposition.

So today's verb is pan. To pan. What does it mean to pan? Well, to pan actually comes from looking for gold. A long time ago in America, they would take these pans like a frying pan and they would dip the frying pan into a river and pick up the sand and then they would shake out the sand looking for gold they were panning for gold they were looking for money they were looking

for success so if you panned some sand from the river and you found gold,

you were successful. And that's where to pan out comes from. How did your situation pan out?
