Summary

We take a realistic look into the unrealistic world of romantic comedies that we LOVE to hate.

This Week -

Failure to Launch (2006)
Starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew McConaughey

A wonderful movie where we discuss two people who have made up jobs and spend their lives manipulating themselves, each other, and everyone they come in contact with.

We ask the tough questions, this week:
Do any adults really want to live at home with their parents?
Would we be better off grieving our losses if we just eat mint milanos?
How much nude Terry Bradshaw is too much nude Terry Bradshaw?

Listen to the podcast - then watch the movie or vice versa!
But stay home, please. What do you need to go out for? Maybe groceries?
Then go back home. Stay home. No need to go out. Pretend you're in an underground fallout shelter. It's therapeutic (and just safe, right now).

HEIGL Meter!!
A scale for movies. 5 Heigls = worst movie you've ever seen in your life, most painful. 1 Heigl = not bad.

Sarah: 5 Heigls
James: - 2 and 3/4 Heigls

if this is your first week joining us last week, we watched Burlesque, that wonderful

the spectacle of that movie. Spectacle is a great way to describe it. But this week we are doing

failure to launch. Makanahe, Sarah Jessica Parker. We haven't done a Makanahe movie in quite

some time. So I figured that we should give our boy a little resurgence. He needs some abuse.

1:31.6

We'll just say that. Especially for this movie. Everyone in this movie needs abuse. Everyone,

1:36.8

it's the most grating performance. We'll talk about it, but the performances are the most

1:41.2

grating all around. The story is horrible. It's good. It's just terrible. Everything does.

1:46.9

Absolutely terrible. But they were somewhat merciful on us. Like I said, this week is failure to

launch the 2006 movie one hour and 36 minutes. And you feel every second of those 96 minutes.

2:00.8

Sometimes it feels like it's from 1999. Sometimes it feels like it's from 2008. It's so weird.

2:07.2

Well, this was also in that weird stage where they were acting like we don't have cell phones.

2:11.6

In 2006, I'm sorry, we definitely had cell phones. But sometimes they act like we don't have them.

2:18.8

Well, because that's the worst thing for writing something. Cell phones always a block.
