So I'm finding that there's two dramatically different viewpoints when it comes to marketing.

Unfortunately, neither of them will ever serve your business well long term.

That's why I'm going to suggest to you the sweet spot is smack dab in the middle.

Let me explain.

So I'm traveling right now and I'm in a hotel room and I ordered room service.

So I wait a little bit.

The room service comes up and the waiter kindly brings the food in, sets everything up, and he hands me the bill. Now, you've probably

experienced this many times where the hotel will automatically add on gratuity. What I've found,

though, is that like oftentimes, I would probably say about 70%

of the time, the waiter will not tell you about the automatic gratuity. And in many cases,

it's quite expensive. Like here, where I am right now, it was 18%. And so then if you don't know

that, and then you go and you just add another tip, you're

essentially paying somewhere upwards of 30, 40% on a tip, which could be really expensive, right?

Well, in this case, the waiter walks in, as I said, he brought the food in, everything was great,

and he handed me the bill and he said, sir, I just want you to know that there is an automatic

18% gratuity that has been added to your bill. So you don't need to add any additional gratuity
