Hey everybody, hi, welcome to the Jeff Gersman Show. I'm your host for this week, Jeff Gersman, and it is January 10th, 2023, and we're hanging out, and it's very wet. It's extremely wet.

Sorry, hang on. It's extremely wet. It's very wet.

It's so wet. It's very damp out here. We are in the middle of a flood watch for the next 36 hours. They extended it. It was originally going to end at noon today. I don't know why I assume that means it's going to be raining in more places in my immediate area, but the rain here has currently stopped.

Looking at my window, live weather watch here. It doesn't look like it's raining back to you.

But it is supposed to rain for the next two hours, and then that's going to be it for the next one, two, three, four days.

But we are still in a flood watch until tomorrow night.

Here it's fine. There's it rained. I don't know about the rest of this town or the immediate areas. I haven't been out much.

But yeah, here there's there has not been much a little bit of water seeped under the garage door into the garage, which is just the wind blowing it under there.

My constant pain that is the idea that no homes around here have rain gutters means that the sides of my house or the sides that the roof that the rain just falls off the roof on both ends. Those two sides are flooded.

Let's call it, I don't know, four inches of water, three inches of water just sitting out there. So now that the rain is stopping, I'm probably going to get out there after the show with my shop vac and vacuum up some water.

I don't know. I don't know what to do here.

But of course, other parts of the state, if something like 20 trillion, some number of the trillions, I thought I thought I heard 20. I don't know. Some insane amount of water dropping on the state over this last couple of days here.

And it's, it's bad. It's bad. And you see a lot of pictures of like, oh, this bridge got washed out or hey, this mudslide blocked this road or all these trees fell down because the wind or, you know, here's shots of a freeway and you can't drive on this freeway anymore because it's underwater or here's a car that is almost completely underwater.

Yeah, it's, it's a bad, it's a bad cycle to be on, you know, because like, here's a zillion trillion gallons of rain that drop in a way that make it impossible to save to help with the drought and then some immediate sun to, so the problem I run into with this house is that it'll rain and then they'll be like a weird hot day immediately afterwards, which is not happening this time.

But normally you'll get like, oh, here's two days of rain and then it's 85 degrees. And so the rain will get into the wood around the window frames and all that and then the sun will hit it and cause it all to swell up and then you get things like, oh, this window leaks now, this window, this, you know, so we had to cock a window, we had to get a window cocked, cock it up real nice.

But that window needs to be full on replaced at this point, but you know, it's anyway.

It's bad, but right here it is not so bad.

I did have to move some stuff in the garage. I had to move a box of books that I had pretty close to the garage door.

Because it was the bottom of that box was getting wet because water was kind of seeping under the door, which solves a mystery for me because my

fallout or all out for collectors edition was that the one that came with the helmet this shitty helmet.

Was sitting on that floor last year and water, but at some point I picked it up over the last 12 months and the bottom of it was like all gross.
