Be in the Word because you don't have anything good to share if you're not actually in the Word

and being transformed in Christ yourself.

Even if you walked with Him for 20-some years, be in the Word.

Or if you're a new Christian, be in the Word.

Grow in Him and then keep your eyes open.

Hey friends, welcome to the Ruth Joe Simon's podcast. Today we're talking about mentorship,

and I am so grateful to have my friend Maddie with me, and I'm excited for you all to get to know her. But I thought it

would be a really good conversation for us to talk about what it looks like to be in a mentorship

relationship. I'm in a different season of life than Maddie. And we have been brought together

in a very specific and special time in our lives. And

we're excited to share more about it with you. So Maddie, welcome. Thank you. Have you been on a

podcast before? No, this is my first. I'm so excited. We're both a little nervous and we're,

you know, taking summer break. And suddenly I was like, Maddie, you want to be on the podcast.

And so I'm so excited to be able to do this. And we don't need to be nervous because the reality is we do this every week. We talk all the time. But we want to make this conversation

really purposeful and useful for the listener. So do you want to share first about how we got

connected? Yes, I love this story.

This is such a good one. I graduated from GCU at the end of 2023 and moved back to Colorado

and was struggling to find a church year after I had been so poured into and actually mentored

in college. And so this was like me on my own and post-grad trying to establish myself and was

really struggling to find a church. So I reached out to Ruth in the DMs and asked if she knew

about a good church here in Colorado. And she responded with open arms and invited me to the church
