Forbidding in action based on the belief that such action is too sanctified or too

accursed for people to participate in.

Almost every society across the globe

has their own sets of taboos,

and what might be taboo to one group of individuals

may not be for another, like certain foods may be considered

taboo to eat, either by custom or religion.

Something may be completely unacceptable for one group, but perfectly fine for another.

Taboos are in place in order to protect people.
