basketball podcast. We sometimes discuss Camel fighting and Leaky Black. Matt Noylanda is

here with me and it's about 1.30 a.m. Eastern right now and we are down to 18. Duke Michigan

State Gonzaga Texas Tech for junior Purdue Kentucky Auburn. Those are the four elite eight games

and we're going to get to all of them. I promise, but I think we have to start Noylanda

with what happened late Friday between Duke and Virginia Tech. So Duke, first things first,

without Cam radish, knee injury of some sort. So that was interesting. Fast forward to

the final moments of the game for junior Texas down to 1.1 second remaining. Buzz Williams

draws up an inbound play, gets a lob to the rim. Matt Hill catches it, clean look. He just

missed it. Incredibly. Matt Hill just missed it, short armed it at the rim. So Duke wins

75-73 and for the second straight game, the Blue Devils get lucky in the final seconds.

Last Sunday it was Aubrey Dawkins, missing a put back at the buzzer. On Friday night, it

was a Matt Hill missing a catch at the rim at the buzzer. Make sense of it. Noylanda

is Duke the luckiest team on the planet. I imagine you were watching it somewhere and I

imagine you did something similar to what I did when a Matt Hill caught the ball. You

were like, oh, because it seemed like no doubt. I mean, you watched that play nine times.

You watched that play 10 times, nine and a half times at a 10. That's going to result

in a bucket. 98 out of 100, I think, probably. Yes, I was with our good buddy, Jeff Borzello.

And I just, I mean, what a game. The game actually went the way I thought it was going to

go. I thought Duke was just barely going to beat Virginia Tech and lo and behold, that's

the way it happened, but you don't expect it to finish like that. Some absurd plays
