Today is Wednesday, March 29, 2023, and we begin with two high school teens from New Orleans

possibly solving a math riddle that stumped adults for more than 2,000 years.

Kalkia Johnson and Nikia Jackson from St. Mary's Academy believe they've proven the Pythagorean

theorem, which deals with right triangles and states that the square of the hypotenuse

is equal to the sum of the square of the other two sides.

No one's been able to prove it with trigonometry without using the theorem itself, which is

no proof at all.

Kalkia and Nikia, however, used another trig principle called the Law of Science to make

their case.

Their findings are under review by the American Mathematics Society.

In the meantime, both girls are giving props to their math teachers for pushing them toward

excellence and told local TV station WWL, there's nothing like it being able to do something

that people don't think that young people can do.

Gross out question of the day, knowing that the cell by date was thousands of years ago,

would you eat a meatball made from a long extinct woolly mammoth?

Now you can, but even the scientists who whipped it up by mixing prehistoric DNA with some lab

created protein, say they wouldn't.

Normally, we would taste our products, James Royale, the man behind the meatball at Australian

startup Val Foods told CNN, but we're talking about a protein that hasn't existed for

5,000 years.
