If you are a light and you are put in a dark place, what will you do by your very nature?

You will shine, you will illuminate. You will make a difference. It is

your nature to do so. You can do no other. It is the nature of light. I want to encourage you

today that we, God's people, are called to shine as lights

and dark places, and it is our nature to do so. Like it's the nature of a bird to fly and it's the

nature of fish to swim. It is the nature of light to shine and we are called to shine. This is Michael Brown. Welcome to the

confront culture, the whole question of should we address controversial issues.

To me, it's not a question. To me, the question is answered by the nature of who we are.

It would be like saying, should the light shine in darkness, should the light illuminate darkness,

should the light make a difference in darkness? That, that to me, would be the big issue and the big

question. And there is no big issue and there is no big question because that's what light does.

In the same way, when salt was put on something as a preservative in the ancient world or salt was put on something for taste,

that's what it did. And the only salt that didn't do it

was salt that was not salty anymore. And if that was possible, then the salt had no use and just
