Tell you something that very much surprises me.

I don't know if it surprises you, but Alex Verdugo is still a free agent, the former New York Yankee.

And the athletic reported today that Alex Verdugo has not received a single Major League offer since becoming a free agent.

Not one.

Because when you hear that Verdugo is a free agent, it's natural to say, yeah, he's

probably asking for too much money. That's what I would have sold. I mean, why wouldn't we?

Because Alex Verdugo is a serviceable major leaguer. I mean, he was the starting left fielder for a team

that got to the World Series last year. I know he didn't have the greatest year in the world. In fact, it was one of the worst years of his career. Yeah, but it's not like he hit 190.

No, he had 230.

A little bit better.

He had 13 home rounds, which is basically his average.

That's his career high, tied for his career high.

And he plays really good defense in left field.

He's a major league baseball player.

You know what I mean?

Like, I hear you. So you would have thought, yeah, I'll probably have to take a one-year deal, maybe six or seven million dollars, which is less than what he made last year, fine.

And he's 29.

Right.

The idea that he has not received a major league offer is kind of nuts.

It's crazy.

That's bizarre, to be honest with you. And so maybe it's more he hasn't received an offer because teams think that he's going to reject it.

So it's not like he's demanding whatever the number is.
