Superblumes occur when dormant wildflower seeds blossom all at once, creating a kaleidoscope of color.

After near record rainfall this winter,

hills that are typically brown have transformed

into seas of green, sparking hopes

that a colorful burst is in the works. Visitors are already flocking to places like Anza Barago Desert State Park

where a bloom is already underway,

although according to NBC News, it's too soon to call it super.

Crowds can be an issue.

During last year, Super Bloom, so many people try to access Walker Canyon

in Lake Elsonor that police had to close roads,
