Today is yet another Friday the 13th and we're only in March. We had one last month, too. Back-to-back

Freaky Fridays happen whenever a 28-day non-leap February starts on a Thursday. The last time was in

2015, before that, 2009. And if you're looking ahead, the next February-March repeat will be in

2037. Overall, most calendar years have either one or two

Friday the 13th, and once every nine years or so, like this year, we get three, with the final one

of 2026 landing in November. At 85 years old, many people are retired, but not Jim Clyburn.

After consulting with his constituents and his three daughters, the South Carolina

lawmaker says he is planning a vigorous campaign to run for his 18th congressional term.

The longtime Democratic leader is bucking the current trend of other lawmakers in their 80s,

like Nancy Pelosi and

Steny Hoyer, who have announced their plans to retire. Clyburn has served in the U.S. House

of Representatives since 1993. If he wins re-election, he would be one of the oldest members

currently serving, but the all-time record still belongs to Ralph Hall of Texas, who served until he was 91.
