Basketball Podcast. I've got Sam Vassini with me. Matt Norlander is not here today. He's

here today, Sam. It's an excuse app since he's either at the biggest tournament or the Atlantic

Tenant tournament. We'll figure that out later but he's not going to be here for this episode.

Sam is going to join me exclusively and we've got a lot to get to obviously but I wanted

to start with some interesting developments over the past 24 hours before we get into actual

basketball stuff. And that is fired coaches because that is a huge topic of conversation

in the sport this time of the year. St. Louis Fire, Jim Cruise, Senator Florida Fire, Doni

Joe's Rutgers fired Eddie Jordan and so Sam I talked to a bunch of sources

really over the past month because you start preparing for these days a long time ago but

in addition to that

also over the past 24 hours and got together a list of

candidates for the Rutgers job guys who will absolutely be considered and or guys who should be

considered and it seems at this point that

Rhode Island's Dan Hurley is going to be the top target and I think most people understand his

background. He's a New Jersey guy, his father coaches the Hall of Fame basketball coach at St.

Anthony's, he's the brother of Bob Hurley, you know his family is synonymous with basketball in

the state of New Jersey. Rutgers of course is in the state of New Jersey. So simple question, Sam

if Rutgers approaches Dan Hurley, which it will and if Rutgers offers the job to Dan Hurley,

which most people think it will whether formally or informally, should Dan Hurley take the Rutgers

job, should Dan Hurley leave Rhode Island after the season to be the next head coach of the Rutgers

Scarlett Knights. All right well first and foremost let's just get this out of the way now.
