Hi, hello and welcome to the Dismplug ladies only show for March 11th.

It's a Monday.

I'm joined this week by Teresa Eccles, Lee Azanola, and Kathy Whirling, and of course

I'm Julie Martin, your host for the show.

This week we're going to be talking about women in travel, not just Disney specifically,

but any type of travel that you wish to do.

So I wanted to start out by talking about a recent tragedy, which it's a little bit sad,

but it has something to do with what we're going to talk about today.

So last month, well actually two months ago, in January, Sarai Sierra, she was a 33-year-old

mother of two from New York.

She took a two week trip around the world to sort of photograph some of the major sites

around Europe and that area.

So she had left on January 7th and was supposed to return on January 21st to her family.

She never made it.

She was murdered while in Turkey.

And Azan, as it is, it's kind of brought some light to how people actually feel about

women in traveling and whether or not they're alone.

So I came across a blog on Huffington Post, and this was written just in February.

So not that long ago, and it's by Layla Gare, and it should women travel solo.

She kind of discusses the media outcry that happened afterwards.

What she writes about is some of the things that were said after the murder.
