So last night Sunday night television in America two things that were most dominating the social media universe everybody deciding whether or not they were watching the NBA all star game or the Megan Markle special on Oprah, which was airing on CBS and interestingly.

0:46.2

My audience I said what were you watching right that moment while both were airing 13% of you said you were watching the NBA all star game 11% of you said you were watching the Megan Markle Oprah 76% of you said you were watching neither.

1:03.7

Now I was watching both because my wife is obsessed with the crown which I haven't watched but I'm told that I would like which is sort of a fictionalized portrayal of the of the British crown and all the stories I think starting with Queen Elizabeth and running all the way up through Princess or Lady Die so far Princess die.

1:26.1

And I imagine they're going to have to add another season and eventually it's going to include Prince Harry and Megan Markle and all this so I watched some of the Oprah interview and I also watched simultaneously the NBA game and it's it's pretty wild.

1:48.8

To see the way the breakdown went but we talked a lot in the first hour about all the different shots and W sent me a picture team LeBron wins 170 over team Durant which had 150 but basically every shot in the game for four what was it team LeBron they took one mid range jumper in the entire games that right.

2:13.4

Yeah that's right there was only between the two teams combined there was one made feel goal that was not a three pointer or a darker layup so what that is how unbelievable is that it's just looking at this shot chart is pretty.

2:27.3

Yeah I'm looking at it right now because in there's five shots that were made from around half court to so that is pretty remarkable in and of itself and then the one lone mid range I guess it's paying homage to rip Hamilton there.

2:43.3

Yeah so that one of the questions that I think gets raised and by the way let me say this about because I said I was in the first hour I was going to give you my take on the the Megan Markle mess as well.

2:54.8

I love the British Royal family drama but it's much funnier to me if you picture the same level of coverage occurring for your family.

3:07.6

Like whatever your family situation is imagine that there was an entire industry covering every relationship in your family like your mom is mad at let's just say a a the daughter in law.

3:28.2

Your daughter your sister in law is mad at at your cousin like whatever it is all of these stories and the drama are writ large but if you put it inside of your own family it would be utterly ridiculous so it's entertaining in many ways but also you have to understand how much of everything is just being totally blown out of proportion by the media.

3:56.3

And I always think about this as a member of the media in terms of if you talk to anybody who's a member of a team the most interesting stories typically stay in the house and don't end up being discussed as much in the media because most teams even with drama around them keep the majority of their dirty laundry out of the public.

4:19.7

I'm sure that happens with the royal family to but my goodness there were so many different fireworks from that interview I was watching that during the NBA game now on the NBA side.

4:32.4

I think the big question that basketball in general has going forward and the NBA is certainly a laboratory for it is what are they going to do about all the areas of the court that nobody shoots from anymore.

4:47.6

Because when I look at this shooting chart and it's the best players in the NBA obviously competing in the all star game and there's one made mid range jumper.

4:59.4

What do they do do they have to add a four and a five point line on the court.

5:06.7

Do you have to make a dunk or let I don't even know how they address the way the game is played now where effective.

5:17.5

The only places that people score are inside of the paint and outside of the three point line that's what the game is now.

5:26.2

And anything that you do in the mid range is a bad shot.

5:31.3

It doesn't make sense to actually take it.

5:34.1

I mean you'll see now in an NBA game.
