And we begin with Starbucks setting the record straight.

You can listen to Lady Gaga's shallow all you want, but that will not get you a free drink.

The company's announcement follows an internet scam by a teenage gaga fan hoping to push

shallow to the top of the Billboard charts. The teenager tweeted the Starbucks logo with a fake

promotion to snap and post a selfie with the hashtag

shallow bucks to win an instant voucher for a freebie within an hour thousands

and thousands of people bought in. As it turns out hashtag shallow thousands and

it turns out hashtag shallow bucks is not real

Starbucks is not honoring the fake offer and its media department had to go

into overdrive to debunk the rumor.

And while the hoax hassled Starbucks, it may have helped the song.

Shallow just hit number one on Billboard's Hot 100,

all the way up from number 21 last week.
