And we begin with the mysterious disappearance and joyful return of an unofficial school mascot.

As 2017, Annie, a grey feathered Peregrine Falcon, has purchased a top UC Berkeley's 307-foot-tall

bell tower alongside her partner, Grinnell.

Known as the Cal Falcons, the pair have their own Instagram, YouTube channel, and three

dedicated webcams.

With nesting season fast approaching, those familiar with these birds say it's highly

unusual for a female to leave her nest, but fly away she did last Wednesday, leaving

university birdwatchers to fear the worst when she didn't return.

Then two days ago, she miraculously reappeared as if nothing had happened.
