Today's expression is a very good expression that I think all of you know. However, even though probably 90% of you have heard this expression, me, coach Shane, as an American, I'm 47 years old, in my entire life, I have never used this expression.

Now, yes, it is an English expression.

I don't recall ever hearing my mom say it or my dad say it, but it's an English

expression, so I'm not afraid of teaching it. Do I recommend you use it? Why not? It's a funny

expression. It is, it's raining cats and dogs. It is raining, R-A-I-N, rain. It's raining cats and dogs.

It's raining cats and dogs. So from the sky right now, it's raining.

Rain, rain, rain.

Cats and dogs are falling from the skies.

That's horrible.

That's terrible.

Yeah, we have this expression.

And what it means is it's raining a lot.

A huge amount of rain.

Why cats and dogs?

I don't know.

This is my guess.

And we have to think in the stereotype, you know, like on TV and a cartoon and an animation. Do cats and dogs, do they like each other? Are they friends? No. On TV, no, they're not. Cats, weir, real, dogs, they're chasing each other. They hate each other. They're very loud. Very loud.

And that's the idea. If it's raining a lot, it's very loud. It's so loud. It's like

raining. It's like cats and dogs are fighting. That's my guess. I don't know.

Once again, I am familiar with the expression.
