I'm okay.

My throat is still not recovered, but I'm surviving.

So I did have a plan.

I was going to go to the store with my mom and buy a couple of things.

But I guess I'll save my money, and it's perfect because today's expression is save it for a rainy day.

And that's what I'm going to do.

I'm going to save my shopping trip for a rainy day.

Save it for a rainy day.

This is a great expression, and it means save that thing you want to do.

Maybe watch a movie, maybe eat some cookies or some special ice cream, or maybe, I don't know, play a video game. Save it for a rainy day. Now, usually when we use this expression, it means money. So if you get some birthday money,

oh, it's your birthday and your grandmother or your husband or your, I don't know,

dad gives you $50 or $100. Oh, boy, you want to spend it. But in this situation in America,

we might say, save it for a rainy day. Save that money. Save that special thing for a rainy day.

Why? Why should we save it for a rainy day? Well, not me, but many people, they get depressed

on a rainy day. If they look outside and it's raining, they say,

oh, I can't go outside. I can't do anything. I wish I could do something. Well, if you have

some money saved up or if you have something special, you can do it inside on a rainy day, and you'll be

happy.
