Okay, so to do a disservice.

That's the key verb.

Disservice.

To do what?

A disservice?

D-I-S-E-R-V-I-C-E. to do what a diss service d i s s e r v i c e so it's dis d i s d i service so to service somebody means to help that person to give person assistance. You might help them with their homework, you might help them financially, you might help them emotionally. Doing something for somebody is

doing a service for somebody.

So, for example, when I go to the bank,

if I bring in all my coins,

the one cent penny, the five cent nickel,

the 10 cent dime,

let's say I have 200 coins.

Well, some banks charge people to change those coins into dollars.

But my bank does it for free.

They do it as a service.
