Today I'm going to talk to you about the lies we tell. I know many of us as parents

really try to teach our kids to be honest. We don't want them cheating, lying, sneaking, covering up, or stealing.

But then we turn around and tell lies about the tooth fairies, Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, all of that nonsense we fill their heads with.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with telling kids about those things, they will eventually get old enough to get it,

and they'll understand why we, as parents, made up such outrageous stories.

How it was us who dragged ourselves out of bed to slip cash under our kids pillows or eat the cookies and drink all the milk that we left out for Santa,

or to toss those Easter eggs onto the yard

so our kids wouldn't catch on to our little lies.

But when it comes to the real lies, I was never really one to believe it's in a child's nature to lie.

I worked as a preschool teacher for 10 years, and if there was ever a time that a two or three or four year old

told me a bold-faced lie I'd always be shocked. I don't really think children are wired to think that way. If I knew the
