0:41.4	It is to be at the helm, H-E-L-M, to be at the helm.
0:53.5	Now, a couple days ago, we had the expression to give a wide birth, and that expression, as I told you, is related to shipping. Well, to be at the helm is also related to shipping.
0:58.6	If you look at a ship, especially the old style ship with the sails, you know, like Columbus and Ferdinand, Magellan, and all the other great explorers, Cortez and all those guys.
1:13.6	Well, I think Cortez was an explorer, right?
1:16.3	Anyway, helm, H-E-L-M, a helm is the place where you steer and guide the ship.
1:25.8	That's where the captain stands.
1:28.6	The captain of the ship.
1:30.8	The skipper.
1:32.3	He or she, I guess, of course there are female captains,
1:36.7	that person stands up there.
1:39.4	They are the leader.
1:40.6	They guide the ship.
1:42.1	They can steer the ship.
1:43.5	They tell the ship where to go. So, who is at the helm
1:48.5	means who's the captain. And who is at the helm in daily English means who is in charge, who is the boss,
1:59.9	who is the leader? To be at the helm means to be the leader.
2:07.2	For me, in my house, I am at the helm. Next in line would be my cat, Minty.
