Peace be to you.

In the previous lesson we said that there is running through God's universal law that

no one shall be crowned unless he has struggled.

Certain privileges and gifts and blessings are given to all of us on condition that we

fulfill love and the right use of freedom.

Anyone who gives freedom to another takes a risk.

Whenever a parent gives freedom to a son or daughter, he takes a risk.

For freedom can turn out either for a wheel or for woe.

When God made the angels free, he took as it were, a risk. Actually, some of them used their freedom in order

to declare themselves as God. They denied their independence and thus they

forfeited the right to perpetuate themselves in glory and happiness.

We went on to say that there's evil in the world,

and we asked at the conclusion of the last lesson that this evil would in some way get to man.

God now takes another risks.

He makes man.

He makes him free.

And he made man free, as we said in another lesson, because God wanted to make a moral universe.

And it is impossible to make a moral universe without making a free universe.

We can be virtuous only in a universe in which it is possible to be vicious.

In a certain sense, we are less free than freeable.

I should have put that the other way around.
