Hey guys, how's it going? Scott here from Scotsbacelessons.com again, and we're here with episode 22 of the Scott's Bass Lessons podcast.

Today we've actually got a killer player with us, Stefan Retenbacher. He's one of the funkist bass players over here in the UK, and he's actually got a wicked band as well, the Rettonbacker's Funkistra.

Stefan's originally from Austria and he wears many hats.

He's a bass player, guitar player, composer, a band leader, arranger, educator, producer, music software

developer. And as I said, he's head of one of the head. That's a bit of weird, isn't he? He's band leader

for one of the coolest bands over here in the UK, the Rettonbacker Funkistra.

Now, he's performed with a ton of people as well, like Steve Winwood, Jack Bruce, Josh Stone, Amy Winehouse, Loolew, Mika Paris, Paul Carrot, Kiki D, Sophie Sophez, Bexter, Le Mal, Alexander Burke, Russell Watson, and even Adam Ant, to name a few.

And he's also been involved pretty much for his entire career in music education as well.

You know, I'll just list a few of the places that he's taught at, just to give you a bit of a

glimpse into what Stefan's got going on educationally.

It's taught at the Royal Northern College of Music,

the London Centre of Contemporary Music,

the Detroit Institute of Music Education,

the Academy of Contemporary Music,

all of these have got really long names.

Institute of Contemporary Music Performance,

and on top of that, most importantly,

I may add. He is also a regular visiting faculty member in the Academy here at Scott's

Bass Lessons as well. So just to give you a few things that you're going to learn in this episode,

I've kind of just pulled out some really cool bits for you just before we get into the episode.
