Let's talk about those teenage years.

I don't know why those years from 13 to 19 are kind of a blur to me. I remember being kind of withdrawn, maybe I was kind of

awkward, maybe kind of shy. I struggle to fit in in high school. My birthday is in December so I was

basically younger than everyone in my class. I didn't have any brothers or

sisters to lean on or learn from.

I went to a really diverse high school, but being of mixed ethnicities,

which wasn't really common at that time.

At least it didn't seem like it because I didn't know of any other kids who had one white parent and one Asian parent.

There was really no niche for me, so clicking up with a group with ethnic commonalities just wasn't going to happen.
