free of deadly toxins with a complimentary copy of Cannibal Airlines on VHS. Genevieve, what's the catch? The catch is that the creep who owns the place is probably going to kill you. Our movie pairing this week is Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho and Dan Tractenberg's 10 Cloverfield Lane, which share the same setup. Both open with a young woman skipping town in a hurry. She drives through the night on an empty stretch of highway, but veers off the road unexpectedly. She finds lodging in an isolated place, overseen by a gentle tone but temperamental host who may not have her best interests in mind. Psycho and Ten Cloverfield Lane diverge from there. In Hitchcock's classic, the woman in peril is Marion Crane, played by Janet Lee, who famously doesn't make it pass the first half of the movie.

The host is Norman Bates, played by Anthony Perkins, and it's his twisted mind that ultimately becomes the focus of the last half.
