Hey everybody, welcome to a new episode of the Jeff Macolino podcast. Hopefully you are

0:13.5

enjoying the new change up to the podcast. I'm not sure which episode this will be because

0:22.8

I've got a cluster of guests. Fortunately for the podcast with guests, it looks like I'll

0:32.3

be able to start recording them maybe a month or two even before they come out to you.

0:40.0

But I'll try to keep relatively current as far as the solo ones that I do so that my

0:49.0

stories and material stay fresh for whatever is going on. I thought about backlogging a bunch

0:56.8

of those and then I thought I could just gloss over a major world event or something silly

1:02.0

like that and I'd look like a fool. So I'll try to keep those current, those are obviously

1:07.6

shorter and don't need to be planned so far ahead. So today on the podcast I have R. Scott

1:14.8

Edwards. Now he owned a chain of comedy clubs for over 20 years. He produced TV stage concert

1:23.1

comedy with legends including Jay Leno, Dana Carvey, this guy named Jerry Seinfeld, Bob

1:30.9

Sagitt and many, many, many more comedians. He now does some coaching. He also co-wrote

1:40.1

a book that he actually sent me prior to this interview. Be a stand up comic which has

1:51.7

been a good read and very generous of him to send that. Frankly that's one thing I keep

1:58.0

finding amazing is how many people in comedy are very happy to help people trying to get

2:06.6

started. I haven't yet run into the mean competitive people probably because I'm a nobody

2:13.8

but nonetheless almost every guest I've had in the comedy world has been more than generous

2:23.3

with their time, with offering to help with other stuff. If I need it given me advice

2:27.7

it is touching to see how much people in comedy are willing to embrace people trying to

2:35.4

get into comedy. And Mr. Edwards will be an interesting guest. I think I'm actually recording

2:41.8

this before interviewing him. I'd like to change that up now and then. But I am doing this

2:49.5

before I interview him. But it would be interesting because he has a little more maybe of the business
