basketball podcast. I got Matt Norlander here with me. Got a lot to get to including

a preview of this weekend's games between Kansas and Baylor and Virginia in North Carolina.

The first, the big news of the past 24 hours. North Carolina State has fired Mark Godfrey

Norlander. Mark Godfrey-Gone, middle of a six season, four incidentally tournaments,

two sweet 16s, but obviously missed the tournament last year, was on his way to missing the tournament

this year with one of the more disappointing teams in college basketball. Your thoughts

on NC State's decision to change coaches.

You remember what I said in the last podcast, Perish?

I don't. I don't pay attention to what you say a lot of the times.

It's a healthy discourse we've got going here. That's why the people stick around. That's

why they enjoy this. Really just a strong, common bond that cannot be broken. The second

we've got going, crazy. I said of the loss by 30, he'd be fired the next day.

Yeah.

The loss by 27. He's gone. I mean, here are the facts. There are unrealistic expectations

with the fan base. We understand that Godfrey was not Herb Sendeck. We also know Godfrey

wasn't the first choice. We know that other candidates when Godfrey got hired basically

gave Debbie Yao the Heisman. By the way, Debbie Yao is a lame duck candidate, or lame duck

athletic director as we speak. It's not an easy job. It's a very tough job. Obviously

what Duke and Carolina being so close. By the way, he's getting a nice little buyout

that a buyout's no joke. It's like almost four million. Good for him. He's not going

to be poor by any means. I realize this isn't 1983. People talk about how Rick Barnes
