All right, so a lot of you out there maybe think wait, I thought Clay was out and I thought he told us he was going to be going to Mexico. Yes, I did.

But I didn't anticipate the weather falling apart like it has. And so as a result, I am unable to fly out of Nashville. And so I've been unable to go to Mexico. So I'm coming out of vacation. I missed one day. And then I'm right back with you guys hanging out on the Wednesday edition of the program. I should be here on Thursday and Friday. So long as the power doesn't go out.

Speaking of the power going out, we're going to talk with John McLean in the next segment from the Houston Chronicle 45 years there and John McLean is without power.

So I imagine a decent number of you right now, particularly in Texas Arkansas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, driving around in your cars, maybe even sitting in them right now because you've had so much ice that your power is out.

Some of the lines, the power lines have been snapped. And so I appreciate all of you out there hanging out with us. And certainly it is the white walkers to use a game of thrones, reference have arrived all over the South.

If I'm not mistaken, I don't remember the exact date, but that was the last time that I was allowed on CNN. I went on CNN to talk about Jamel Hill, then at ESPN, calling the president of the United States a white supremacist.

And I went on Brooke Baldwin show. She was at CNN at the time. Well, Brooke Baldwin has since announced that she is going to leave CNN. And I'm not getting about this.

But I'm certainly the most famous, most watched, most viral segment that she has ever done in her history at CNN was when I went on the show. And she just tried to pretend like she was false outrage. What I call faux rage. Oh my God.

I can't believe you're saying what you're saying on CNN now. I'm now banned. Dub, do you have the date on when that happened? I think it was and I can look it up. I can look. I'm seeing September 15th of 2017. That sounds about right. Okay. September 15th of 2017. So that's been going on.

It'll be four years in September three and a half years, I guess, since that moment happened. I'm not kidding. Like this is by far what Brooke Baldwin is known most for in her career. Dub, did you you didn't know me at the time? When did you start working on outkick?

I've been here for about two and a half years. So this was before my time on the show. But I do remember when this happened. You saw the clip at some point like a huge percentage of the overall sports fan base in America and beyond sports did.

I mean, this was like the number one story for multiple days on like Yahoo. I mean, sorry on Facebook on Twitter. It was trending everywhere. I mean, it was a monster story in this clip went viral. So you saw it before you knew me at all. You saw it. That's correct. Yes.

What were your thoughts when you saw it? I mean, I thought it was hilarious. Yes. But other people didn't quite find it so fun. I find it as funny. Yes, that's true. So I thought so there's a huge percentage of people out there that are new to outkick since this.

Right. Because we had only been on. I guess a year and change on this show. We never known five years. Basically that we've been doing this show. So a lot of people were still new to the show when that happened. It was a Friday.

And so we came on the Monday after that. It was a huge story. We addressed it. ESPN was all triggered as you can well imagine because they were aware. I think that I was poised to start to kick their ass and ratings and they were trying to do whatever they could to get me off the air. And I remember.

I got a book deal out of it. I mean, really this worked very, very well for me in terms of growing our audience. In fact, I imagine there's a decent number of you out there right now that you're like, oh, that's one of the first times I heard of Clay Travis at all because the story was just so, so massive. So in honor of Brook Baldwin at CNN announcing that she is leaving CNN will no longer be on the network.

I thought what better way to say thank you than to play this for you guys on the radio program. So this is a couple of minutes. This is a clip from when I went on CNN on September 15th of 2017.
