Good morning and welcome the kid news. I'm Tori. It's Tuesday, February 14th, 2023, Valentine's

Day, and we begin with a DC kid with a really kind heart. A few years ago, Patrick Kaufman

was volunteering at a food bank when he and some friends tucked handmade Valentine's Day

cards inside about 30 home delivery meal packages. That act got the now 14-year-old thinking

about others who might appreciate a similar gesture. So he kept growing the project and

this year, Patrick just organized the creation and delivery of 16,000 Valentine's for people

who otherwise likely wouldn't get one at hospitals, nonprofits, and nursing homes.

The ninth grader personally recruited students in 62 schools around DC, Maryland, and Virginia

to make the cards and his parents, uncle, and grandmother to bundle them up in a boxes.

He told the Washington Post, he feels a big sense of accomplishment, but after today,

we'll all be taking a little break. Kansas City will be celebrating the Super Bowl

Champion Chiefs tomorrow with a parade, starting at noon local time and a rally outside

Union Station at 145. Many school districts in the area are making good on their promise

we reported last week, announcing they will cancel classes for the day so students and

staff can join the celebration. And while Kansas City won the Super Bowl, Team Fluff

is the repeat winner of the Puppy Bowl. Vivi and the Bulldogs scored the game's final

touchdown by taking a green turtle toy into the end zone. The annual competition between

teams Fluff and Ruff showcases dogs and need of adoption. Pups still available are featured

It's clear why puppies are linked to the big game, but why do images of owls flood

the internet around this event? It started out with people doing a search for information

on the Super Bowl, sometimes making a simple typo and writing Super Bowl instead. So
