Summary

Homily from the Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time.

We are called to do today what prepares us for the challenge of tomorrow.

We have become more comfortable with the "completed" past than the unknown future. Rather than desiring to launch into the challenge of the future, many of us have become paralyzed by fear of the future. When we are rooted in the Word of God each day, we become more rooted in God Himself each day. When we are rooted in the Lord, there is no room for fear of the future.

0:36.7	saying I would rather go back in time to meet my ancestors than go into the future to meet

0:41.3	And there's a lot of reasons.
0:42.6	There's a, I talk to people and they said, well, I would love to go back to meet my
0:46.0	grandparents, because I've never known my parents' parents.
0:48.5	I just want to know that.
0:49.5	They'd be great to see what they were like.
0:52.3	Others said, like, I like to meet my grandparents or great grandparents, because I want to know
0:56.1	where the crazy came from.
0:57.3	Like, some of that, but a lot of times when people, when they don't want to go to the future,
