Have we learned today from a great piece in the St. Paul Pine and the press that Ilhan Olmar has been talked to before about her anti-Semitic views.

In fact, a group of state legislators essentially had an intervention with her about her views led by state senator Ron Latz from St. Louis Park in Democrat.

He's been in the legislature since 02, and he's agreed to talk to us today.

And what I find fascinating is that at the very end of this piece, it's a piece by Dave Orrick.

It's on the front page of the Pioneer Press. It's very thorough.

What we learn is that she's had an entire history of this, but it seems to me that since she decided to become a public face, we've all decided, meaning her public, that she just merely needs some education, that she just isn't up to speed on how harmful her remarks are.

But how Latz concludes is he said, what can be done now is that those of us who disagree sharply need to speak out publicly, and forcefully some have been treating her a bit with kid gloves no more.

And that's what I want to talk to Ron Latz about.

I also think, why should this woman be treated with kid gloves?

You know how news gathering institutions regard her. She perfectly fits the template. She's a woman of color. She's Muslim. She's the first. She's a Somali immigrant.

And everyone's dazzled by her.

I don't trust her. I never have.

Has nothing to do with the fact that she's a Muslim or a woman of color. I don't trust her to safeguard the United States the way I wanted safeguard it.

And it strikes me that Latz and other. I guess presumably the Jewish members of the Minnesota House and Senate are revealing to us that they've talked to her before about this.

I'll tell you the exact time it was.

Last year before she was elected to the House of Representatives before she emerged from a crowded Democratic field of Minnesota's liberal 5th Congressional District leaders of many ampuses Jewish community fashioned what could be described as an anti-Semitic intervention of Omar of the rising star of the left.

Those remarks have made many fellow Democrats in the Jewish community uncomfortable. This is relevant now as we all know because we have we do our Omar updates.
