Summary

Homily from the Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Good times don’t last…and neither do bad times.

One of the many things that life teaches us is that life is always changing. To grow is to change. There are times that are good and there are times that are bad. All of us go through good times and bad times and neither of them are permanent. In both good times and bad, Jesus is Lord and He loves the person in a desperate situation and the person in a bright situation.

0:10.5	Things were relatively good.
0:11.7	It had become a relatively strong country.

0:16.2	And at least for those who are already wealthy or they are a Socracy, there were good

0:21.5	Like the Great Gatsby, whether that's real or imagined, that kind of like living large,

0:34.3	They were prosperous.
0:36.1	And if you looked at it, you'd say, I can write after that.
0:37.8	It would be a good time to be alive.
0:39.0	It's a good time to be alive.
0:41.5	As thinking about that one, we read today, first reading from Jobis, Job Chapter 7.
0:46.9	And Jobis in a very difficult place, but if we rewind back to Chapter 1, we have an entirely
0:52.1	different picture of Job's life.
0:53.6	If we go back to Chapter 1, the picture of Job's life is that Job has got so many kids,
0:58.9	he doesn't know what to do, living in a shoe.
1:01.1	He's got land, he's got flocks, he's got herds, he's got cattle, he worships.
