Hello, I'm Sean Curran, and this is today in Parliament from BBC Radio 4 for Tuesday

the 2nd of June, when the Home Secretary said the killing of 18-year-old Henry Novak in Southampton

last year was a vile and violent crime.

His murder at the hands of Vikram Digver was a horrifying act.

Digwer murdered Henry and then lied about him as he lay dying.

The Conservatives call for a change in police policy after body cam footage showed Henry

Novak being handcuffed in spite of telling officers he'd been stabbed and couldn't breathe.

The dangerous ideology of so-called anti-racism, allowing people to be treated differently

based on race, must end.

Also tonight, Labour and the Conservatives blame each other for the soaring number

of young adults who aren't in education, training or employment. The numbers did start going up

from the pandemic. So this wasn't a surprise for them. Yet here we are after almost two years

of them in office and Labour still has no plan.

But first, the Home Secretary Shabana Mahmoud has told MPs the murder of Henry Novak was an evil act.

The 18-year-old was fatally stabbed in December last year.

Body cam footage, released by the police police showed officers handcuffing the dying

university student after his killer, Vikram Digwa, falsely claimed he'd been racially abused.

Digwa was handed a life sentence on Monday and told to serve a minimum of 21 years. Making a statement
