Today's expression, oh, I like it, sticks out like a sore thumb.

Something sticks out like a sore thumb.

So basically we have a phrasal verb to stick out.

If something sticks out, it is noticeable.

We can easily see it.

So if I have 10 apples and one orange, do you think you can see the orange?

Really? Would it be easy to see the orange? Really?

Would it be easy to see the orange?

Sure, because it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Okay, before I explain sore thumb, let me give you another example.

Let's say I have 200 beautiful red roses. And in the middle of all those roses,

I have my face. Do you think it would be easy to find my face?

Really? It would be? Of course, because my face would stick out like a sore thumb.

Some people think they are as pretty as a rose, but no.

All of us would stick out like a sore thumb. So why do we say stick out like a sore thumb so why do we say stick out like a sore thumb once again
