Hello everybody, welcome back to Daily Easy English Expression.

It is, for me, October 30th, tomorrow is Halloween.

It's a scary day in America, especially if a shadow is chasing you in your room.

You're home alone, and you see a shadow of somebody watching you.

Ah, that's so scary.

That is today's expression, a shadow.

S-H-A-D-O-W.

Now, for the past couple days, we studied the word shade,

and now we're studying the word shadow.

What is a shadow as a noun?

Well, it's the black outline that you see when the sun shines on something or somebody or a light.

It doesn't have to be the sun.

It can be a light.

So in the daytime,

if the sun is shining,

you will have a shadow.

In the morning,

your shadow is very long

because the sun is on the horizon.
