Summary

When you’re working through a disordered relationship with food, it can be helpful to know how others who have gone through the same thing have learned to work through it too. Today Jessi is sharing what she eats in a typical day and how she and her husband navigate planning out their meals for the week. She shares why boxing yourself into a restrictive diet is a disservice to your body and brain’s functions given the uniqueness of people and the types of food that they enjoy eating and find satisfying. She discusses how they split up their weekly cooking tasks, how liberating it is to not look at labels while grocery shopping and how to avoid the last supper mentality.   In this episode: Understanding how to listen to your hunger, fullness and satiety cues How food plans may differ from Jessi and others How Jessi goes about her week with planning food What Jessi and her husband do build their weekly meals The liberating feeling of not looking at labels in stores How Jessi and her husband split up cooking for the week Using HelloFresh for her meals Going to the Asian supermarket Eating breakfast even when she doesn’t feel like it How Jessi navigates snacks and eating throughout the day Not judging herself for cravings Avoiding the last supper mentality Honoring your cravings when working through your relationship with food What Jessi’s relationship with food looks like on a day to day basis   Remember to sign for Jessi’s VIP email list here where she will share exclusive content: www.jessijean.com/VIP *You don’t want to miss the 1st email which includes an EPIC workbook guide for alll my visual gals on Nervous System Regulation! I spent 10 years stuck in the diet binge cycles hating my body and envying women who seem to have it all because I never felt enough.

And what I discovered in my journey to food freedom, radical self-love, and becoming an eating psychology coach is this.

You can either live your life at war with your mind or learn to work in sync with it.

And that is what this podcast is all about.

We get real, we get raw, and we hold nothing back.

All righty, today, as per your guys' request on my latest Instagram poll, we're going to dive

0:52.1

in and we're going to talk about what I eat

0:54.9

in a typical day. But before I dive in and share my daily food choices with you, I want to preface

1:00.4

by saying, what I eat in a typical day isn't what you should replicate, isn't what you should

1:06.7

copy. We are all unique. Our food choices are going to be unique. And when you understand

1:11.4

how to listen to your hunger, fullness, and satiety cues, your eating habits and patterns are going

1:17.2

to look completely unique as to mine or somebody else's. And that's really why when we box

1:23.1

ourselves into restrictive diets, it's such a disservice to how our body functions, how our brain

1:28.7

functions, because we're all so unique. What you enjoy eating, the amount of food you enjoy

1:33.8

eating, the types of food that you enjoy eating and that are satisfying to you are going to be

1:39.1

completely different than what it looks like for me. But I get it. I get that you guys are

1:43.2

interested in what a typical day of eating looks like for me. But I get it. I get that you guys are interested in what a typical

1:44.7

day of eating looks like for somebody post, you know, post eating disorder. And so I want to share

1:51.3

this because I remember I had so many of these same questions. And it was like, nobody would tell me.
