Summary

Nestled inside Charleston, South Carolina lives a menacing stone monstrosity, often called the most haunted building in America -- The Old City Jail. The square upon which the Jail sits has been home to untold amounts of suffering and torture, making it the perfect breeding ground for the supernatural to take hold.

As part of my training and experience as a storyteller and tour guide, I have been visiting haunted locations for the past 19 years. There have been many times that I've been in the presence of people having a paranormal encounter, but I had never felt anything myself until the night I decided to enter the Old City Jail. This is part one of my experience, the story of a night that shook me to my very core.

0:55.0	It is 2.50 a.m. on February 9th, 2017, and I am alone inside the Old City Jail in Charleston, South Carolina, one of the most haunted buildings in the United States.
1:17.2	It is a place whose history is so steeped in violence and misery that a residue of malice seems to seep from the
1:25.4	pores of the brick and stone around me. There is a door to the outside not
1:30.9	20 feet away and yet it feels like I am in another world. My plan is to stay
1:37.8	here through the night. There is an old prison caught nearby but I don't think that I'll be getting any sleep.
1:45.8	I can't bear the thought of waking up and finding something standing next to me,
1:51.5	but I doubt that I could fall asleep anyway. I've done my homework. I know the
1:56.7	history of this place. I know other things as well. I am the only living person inside this building, but I am not alone.
2:07.0	The Devil's Hour is almost here. It was exactly one month ago that I began work on the project that would lead me to being in the jail on this night.
