What in the world happened to shalom?

How did we lose Shalom?

Well, I want you to turn in your Bibles to Genesis 3.

I know that this is a very, very familiar passage.

And I know that often when we hear announced a familiar passage,

your mind goes, your heart goes, into mental, spiritual, monotone.

It's very, very easy to check out and not get hit once again or impacted in a new way by the words of Scripture.

So I want to encourage you to resist that.

If you have a Bible, turn to Genesis 3.

I'm going to begin reading with the first verse.

Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had

made.

And he said to the woman, did God actually say, you shall not eat of any tree in the garden. A woman said to the serpent, we may eat

of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, you shall not eat of the fruit of the tree
