Summary

Perfectionism can feel like a badge of honor in business, but in reality, it's often a mask for fear.

In today's episode, we're unpacking how perfectionism shows up in your business and how it quietly keeps you stuck. Maybe you've been holding off on launching that new offer, or you keep tweaking your website or product because it doesn't feel "ready" yet. Sound familiar?

The truth is, that hesitation isn't about high standards, it's about fear. Fear of being judged, fear of failure, or fear that what you've created simply isn't good enough.

We'll talk about where that fear comes from, how to recognize when it's running the show, and what it really takes to move forward with confidence, even when things aren't perfect. Because perfection isn't what builds momentum. Action is.

how being scared is not an excuse. Do you know the number of women, first of all, that come into my

0:28.6

coaching programs, women that send me DMs and like tell me about how scared they are, as if, by the way,

0:36.2

as if that is an excuse, you know, not to do a thing.

0:39.6

And so if you've been in my coaching for any amount of time, you've heard me say at least

0:43.6

once or a hundred times, like fear does not release you from your calling, right?

0:49.4

And so what happens a lot of times when women are nervous about launching a thing, writing the book,

0:56.0

starting the Facebook page, offering the course or whatever, is a lot of times they just keep delaying.

1:02.5

They just keep kicking the can down the field and they never actually start because they're letting what they call perfectionism hold them back.

1:10.7

Now listen, there are so many

1:12.8

women who are wearing the badge of perfectionism as a badge of honor. And I just, I want to cry like,

1:18.8

we'll crap on that, okay? Because the fact that so many people are determined to get things

1:24.6

perfect and are saying, you know, well, I'm a perfectionist,

1:28.5

as if that's a good thing. I'm telling you, it is killing off so many businesses. It is

1:33.5

preventing momentum from happening. It is preventing any sort of forward progress from happening.

1:39.3

Because perfectionism is not a good thing at all. Women are literally stuck in trying to get

1:43.7

things perfect. They're never going to be perfect. And they're doing it, you know, with like telling people that it's because they really just want, you know, to put their best foot forward and stuff. And of course, that all sounds hunky dory, right? That all sounds fabulous. Oh, you know, they want to, you know, put something out with

2:01.1

excellence. Okay. Well, I understand that and that's always good. It's always good to try to put

2:07.2

your best work forward. However, so many women are letting perfectionism hold them back,
