Welcome back to issues etc. I'm Todd Wilkin joining us to discuss the history

of modern Pentecostalism Dr. Nancy Almodovar, she's adjunct professor of world religions at Park University,

author of several books including her latest Cretalapologetics, and a column for the Logia Journal

titled The Forgotten History of Modern Pentecostalism.

What is Pentecostalism?

The Modern version is the resurgence of what we call the

five-fold ministry, teachers, evangelists, miracle workers, visionaries, tongues and interpretation, dreams,

direct revelation from God. It's kind of a hodgepodge now of what it accepts as this is biblical. It's almost trying to

recreate the First century church with all the miracles, tongues, visions, interpretations.

That's what modern Pentecostalism is today.
