Discretion is advised. Oh, oh, no, no. Hello and welcome to Disney Story Origins episode 10b, the Black Cauldron Part 2. I'm going to Oh, In the book of three and in Disney's film we had just left Taren locked in the dungeons of spiral castle. In the original story, he and

Prince Gwynian have been captured by cauldron-born zombie warriors and imprisoned by

the evil enchantress Akron. And in the movie, it's Tarn alone who is locked up,

only in Disney's version, it's by the Horn King.

Except he has none of the attributes of Lloyd Alexander's Horn King,

but several characteristics of Akron, especially her

crimson robe.

I mean Disney really threw Akron under the bus, didn't they?

They gave the Horn King her castle, her clothes, her gimmick, and her niece.

Now, just a little warning. The Disney Story Origins Black Cauldron series in its entirety

is proving difficult to time evenly.

Episode 10 was a pretty long episode, right? Close to two hours.

But we're only 25 minutes into Disney's film and on chapter 6 of a 20 chapter book and that's just

the first book there's still one more so this DSO series of episodes are going

to be lopsided there's really nothing for it there's going to be lopsided, there's really nothing for it.

There's going to be more summarizing and abridging than there was in episode 10A,

and I'll try to do it in a way that doesn't seem rushed.

I don't want to end up with a story origins episode that turns out like Disney's movie because it's been chopped up so much

But I also don't want to stretch a 90 minute movie over too many episodes
