The serial killers are very adept at compartmentalizing or another word for dispartitioning.

And that is where they can view themselves in a variety of ways.

They can develop whole personas that this is not multiple personality disorder.

But they have developed different personas which can have completely contradictory moral centers.

So like John Wayne Gacy for example can kill and bury 33 young men under his house while also denouncing the rate of divorce in America.

And they don't see that as contradictory and in part because they are able to sustain these compartments very well.

We all can do this to some extent as a human ability. If you daydream you can do this.

But they take it, they polish it up, they hone their ability to live these separate personas and to call on whatever they need in a given situation.
