Muhammad Ali is one. And there's an incredible story called What If He is right about hanging out with Marshall McLuhan. But there's also a story where he hangs out with

Junior Johnson, the old stock car driver, and he claims Junior Johnson is the last American hero, saying that electronic media

makes it impossible for their last American folk hero, makes it impossible for there to be

folk heroes anymore. And I think there's a lot of truth to that. I think that, however, locally,

there are still folk heroes, even though nationally

there aren't. And the local folk heroes in Ann Arbor would be, I don't know, Jay Steelester, Paul
