We have emphasized to a great extent the divinity of Christ, and rightly so.

But it often happens that we forget the humanity of Christ.

And it is of that that we would speak.

There are two verses in the scripture, one from Isaiah and the other from the epistle to the Hebrews,

which seemed to be contradictory.

Isaiah says that our blessed Lord was reckoned with the transgressors or sinners.

In the epistle of the Hebrews, that he was separated from sinners.

One with them, and at the same time not with them.

He was with them, reckoned with sinners.

Inasmuch as in his human nature, he took upon himself all of the penalties of sin. He was separated simply because he was
