The portal season is here.

Let's start with quarterbacks.

Remember we said when they were recruiting Bryce Underwood and when they were just recruiting Bryce, this is before Bryce committed, said they were going to pursue a portal quarterback even if they get Bryce committed.

That was an understanding that, hey, we want you and we want to bring in a portal quarterback for you to compete with Bryce and that Bryce was good with it.

He's like, yeah, go get a portal quarterback because I'm going to beat that guy.

But if I don't beat that guy, he could be a mentor.

Now, Bryce thinks he's going to beat that guy.

But this is an important thing, Steve.

Like, you want a guide to sharpen him and take some of the pressure off if he's not quite ready.

But you also want a guy that is good enough to win with.

Ideally, a guy who started a number of games and has won some games at the power

four level.

And we see Michigan being in the mix for some of those guys right now.

Yeah, as we say that, actually, like, literally, Alex Orgy just officially entered the portal

like 30 seconds ago.

There were reports he was going to do it, but now he's officially in.

We knew Michigan's quarterback room was going to look radically different either way,

I feel like.

But, yeah, I mean, you know, I think, I don't know if you'd call it worst case.

Like, you know, Bryce as JJ in 2021, I think is probably what Michigan is hoping for, right?

When you talk about a guy, they can bring in somebody who can win them some games,

knowing all the while that there's almost no way Bryce isn't going to see the field on a consistent basis in year one, right?
