Good afternoon fellow investors and welcome to our Friday January 24th

2020 edition of Invest Talk and if it sounds like I'm under the weather don't worry I don't

have the coronavirus I actually got elbowed literally right below the Adams Apple playing basketball on Monday and so my

voice box has just been kind of bruised and screwed up since then. So don't worry, I feel great.

Nothing here, but apparently overseas,

you're having a lot of issues, right?

In China and they're quarantine cities and we have the third

confirmed the coronavirus here in the United States and this has become a much bigger concern than it was just a few days ago.

And clearly we'll have more information by Monday when the market opens.

But today was one of those days where other factors than earnings or interest rates or the value of the dollar played into what the market did.

And history says that tend to be a short-term blip,

but these pandemics can become bigger. So it'll be very interesting to see if this expands. I hope it doesn't for the sake of the world but clearly we're in some

interesting times in many ways and especially in in China here so that was the main driver of the market today. And with that

there's a lot of other factors as well to discuss so I hope you have made some New year's resolutions to make 2020 a year to optimize your

portfolio because of this is a good example of things like this, unforeseen events that can derail the markets, derail

economies, and bring volatility to the market, right?

And that's what you're seeing over the past few days and

especially today the VIX was up pretty dramatically I think it was up about

20 30% for most of the day ended up about 10% or so, 12%.
