Good morning and welcome to Kid News. I'm Kim. Today is Friday, January 23, 26. And we begin with

that potentially record-setting winter storm we've been warning about bringing with it more than snow,

ice, and ridiculously low temperatures. It may also lead to talking timber. Meteorologists say

it's rare, but the sudden nature of this Arctic blast

could send temperatures plunging so fast that sap inside of some trees freezes and expands,

splitting bark with a really loud bang. Some headlines refer to it as exploding trees,

but experts call that a tad exaggerated. More likely, it'll be a

sudden cacophonous crack or a piercing pop. The wicked weather begins today and will stretch

2,000 miles from the Arizona-New Mexico border to upstate New York. Up to a foot of snow is expected,

with NBC news reporting wind chills in some places could

dip to 50 below zero.

All major metros from Dallas to New York City are in the storm's path, and airlines are

already canceling flights in anticipation.

Amazon is bringing the Internet under one roof.

The world's biggest online store is planning to open its first gigantic brick-and-mortar retail store in Orland Park near Chicago, Illinois.

The 230,000 square foot space, which could fit two targets inside of it, will feature all the household things you'd expect from Amazon,

including groceries, along with a giant warehouse fulfillment center. If an item isn't on

store shelves, customers can click on in-store kiosks and collect it while checking out.

Amazon has experimented with smaller retail stores before, like cashier-free convenience shops and

Amazon Fresh Grocery locations, but nothing compared to this.

Travelers complain about airports all the time, but a terminal at San Francisco International
